Frozen Shoulder (adhesive capsulitis)

Chronic pain and movement disability in shoulders

There are suggestions that frozen shoulder is related to other diseases, such as diabetes or thyroid disease. But in many cases, no specific cause can be found.

  • 1.Pain in the shoulder while moving even though there was no trauma history
  • 2.Difficulty in combing hair or changing clothes with affected shoulder
  • 3.Difficulty in external rotation or lifting

Freezing stage → Frozen stage → Thawing stage

  • Freezing stage : Worsening pain but no limitation in movement
  • Frozen stage : Continuous dull pain and movement becomes stiffer
  • Thawing stage : Pain and movement improves but complete recover cannot be guaranteed
